Why is Indoor Air Quality Important (IAQ)?

Poor Indoor Air Quality can contribute to both short and long term health effects. Typical symptoms associated with poor IAQ include eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches, nausea, dizziness and fatigue. In some cases poor IAQ could lead to much more severe health issues.

Some of the factors contributing to poor Indoor Air Quality could be inadequate ventilation, poorly maintained HVAC systems, tobacco smoke, building materials, carpeting, furniture and cleaning supplies. Concentration of these pollutants can be amplified by factors such as humidity & temperature.

There are two methods for assessing the quality of air you are breathing indoors.

⁃    Real time meters can be used to detect different types of pollutants as well as the levels. This can be helpful in locating the source of the issues in your indoor environment whether it is in a residential home or a commercial building.

⁃    Air Sampling can be performed where you can rapidly collect and analyze a wide range of airborne aerosols including mold spores, pollen, fiberglass and even inspect parts.
